QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university.
  2. Master's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university preferred.
  3. Texas Certification in Elementary Education and Special Education.
  4. A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as an ECSE teacher.
  5. Knowledge of and successful experience implementing research-based strategies in working with students with disabilities.
  6. Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching and teaching other teachers and paraeducators.
  7. Successful experience identifying functions of behavior and developing individualized behavior support plans.

Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days

SALARY:

Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrates an understanding of state curriculum and guidelines and successful experience in modifying content curriculum

  1. Coach campus/district staff in the implementation of behavioral strategies and interventions which results in positive student behavior.
  2. Assist teachers/campus staff with the development of effective and measurable behavior intervention plans (BIP) and behavioral goals.
  3. Assist in the implementation of the curricular models for ECSE.
  4. Assist teachers in modifying and accommodating the general education curriculum for students receiving special education services in the general education setting.
  5. Assist teachers and campus staff in writing and implementing developmentally appropriate standards-based IEPs.
  6. Assist teachers with the selection of appropriate data collection systems for students.
  7. Develop and conduct district-wide staff development for ECSE staff.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
  9. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
