QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in communications or broadcasting or equivalent work experience in the area of audio/video production
  2. Master’s degree or progress toward in the arts, audio/video, and/or communication field preferred
  3. Classroom experience teaching public school students preferred
  4. Teacher certification or work toward alternative certification preferred
  5. Three years of experience in visual storytelling and communications, public relations and/or marketing
  6. Proficient in video production software (including but not limited to): Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop
  7. Proficient in PC and Mac platforms
  8. Experience in directing and developing high-quality productions as well as polished voiceovers
  9. Experience and background in managing/multiple district-level productions
  10. Experience in concept and design development of recorded or live productions
  11. Experience in leading and organizing production workflow
  12. Demo reel with samples of the above requirements required
  13. Ability to prepare and deliver staff development related to best practices in both media industry and education
  14. Effective ability to work on multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality essential

SALARY:

$76,673/BA-5

Minimum Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the 2024-2025 school year.

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Produces, writes, directs, and edits video for CFISD departments adhering to the mission and vision set by the district
  2. Assists in the development, production, post-production, and schedule of distribution
  3. Adheres to and maintains consistent district branding while following programming guidelines
  4. Assists in live Board meeting production, including directing, running graphics and audio; compiles, reports, and addresses errors from each meeting for director of communication to review
  5. Assists with district YouTube channel and various social media campaigns on different platforms
  6. Identifies state-of-the-art production and scheduling techniques used by audio/video professionals to ensure compliance to industry standards
  7. Creates new and innovative programs
  8. Maintains an up-to-date archive of past productions
  9. Effectively prioritizes, analyzes, and problem-solves multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  10. Collaborates with Career & Technical Education Coordinators to determine and manage priorities to ensure attainment of district and department goals and objectives as related to the Animation and AVP classes in the Arts, Audio/Video, and Communications Career Cluster
  11. Develops and coordinates a continuing evaluation of programs within the Career & Technical Education Department, utilizing teacher committees along with existing and new business partnerships, and implements changes based on the findings
  12. Works with teacher committees to create, organize, and maintain curriculum materials in accordance with federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of Career & Technical Education
  13. Prepares and delivers staff development to best practices in both industry and education, emphasizing alignment with college and career readiness
  14. Observes classroom instruction and provides feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation
  15. Coordinates and manages opportunities for students to participate in activities/competitions and/or achieve certifications, allowing them to demonstrate skills that exemplify industry standards
  16. Attends professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in education and industry standards
  17. Maintains awareness of district policy and procedures and educational issues and trends
  18. Works flexible hours as needed to meet deliverable deadlines
  19. Performs other duties as assigned
