QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university;
  2. Valid Texas teacher’s certificate;
  3. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher;
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide staff development, to use technology for developing products, to use data to organize instructional programs designed for the purpose of improving student achievement. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist the director of instruction in the management and coordination of special student group compliance reporting/activities (GT testing, ESL testing, LPAC, TELPAS, dyslexia, etc.).
  2. Assist the director of instruction in reviewing placement records to ensure students are placed according to district guidelines.
  3. Monitor ESL students’ progress to ensure one year’s growth each year (conferences, grades, progress reports, tutoring, RtI, state assessments, DPM’s, benchmark scores, etc.).
  4. Assist in coaching and supporting new and/or struggling teachers.
  5. Assist the director of instruction in using student achievement data to recommend improvement in the design, materials, and implementation of the instructional program and campus initiatives (differentiated instruction, quantum learning, model classroom project, etc.).
  6. Collect and analyze various data pertaining to student achievement.
  7. Serve as a problem-solver for student learning needs and related instructional issues.
  8. Offer staff development related to campus improvement plan.
  9. Model exemplary lessons in the classroom.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by principal and director of instruction.
  11. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
