QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Competent in mathematical skills, basic accounting skills, bid procedures, and a good knowledge of inventory control.
  3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting with some exposure to government
  4. accounting methods.
  5. Must be proficient and accurate in operating a data entry terminal, microcomputer, electronic typewriter, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
  6. Must have effective oral and written communication skills for outside the district, as well as inside the district.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

CP 5 - $36,063

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees

                                             

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Consolidate, audit and reconcile vendor invoices for all payments for food service.
  2. Maintain files for purveyor invoices and statements and proof of payment each month.
  3. Maintain a general ledger for all schools for expenditures and balance.
  4. Prepare cost accounting documents for all receipts and expenditures.
  5. Process all expenditures of Food Service funds.
  6. Assist the bookkeeping department at Central Office in payment of all bills.
  7. Converse with outside vendors in reference to invoices.
  8. Code all travel expense forms.
  9. Maintain an accurate records management system for food service department.
  10. Process all purchase orders for payment electronically and send to central accounting for processing.
  11. Prepare and send to central accounting the breakdown of expenses for maintenance, media, metered mail and vending for each school monthly.
  12. Assure proper tracking of equipment through recording of I.D. tags. Request tag #.
  13. Responsible for proper use of budget codes.
  14. Support the Food Service Department with regular and reliable attendance.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.

 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:

All food service employees must use good body mechanics and follow safe working procedures including infection control. The employee must report any unsafe condition to a manager or supervisor and demonstrate no on-the-job injuries due to a lack of good safety practices. On-the-job accidents must be reported immediately to the manager or supervisor and an accident report completed.
