QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university.
Valid Texas teaching certification;
Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a 2nd-5th elementary classroom teacher;
Preference given to applicants with experience in elementary education;

 

Demonstrated:

  • Commitment to life-long learning that supports high-quality first-time instruction, including the use of technology;
  • Ability to develop and write curriculum;
  • Ability to lead professional learning;
  • Ability to manage data;
  • Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating and cooperating with other teachers, campus administrators and district personnel.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days

 

SALARY:

Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

 

1. Assist with the creation and implementation of a strong, research-based curriculum that supports the development of literacy, social studies, daily schedules, etc., for 2nd-5th grade students.
2. Create and provide staff development, collaborate with teachers, and advise campus staff on the implementation of the Reading/Language Arts and social studies TEKS and the district curriculum.
3. Support campus staff with the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment through data analysis, planning, modeling lessons, training, and consulting.
4. Establish a professional learning community (New Teacher Academy and District Model Teacher program) that supports the growth and development of new Reading / Language Arts teachers.
5. Plan for and support the integration of technology in all curricular areas.
6. Provide training, coordination, and assistance with the implementation of all literacy programs and/or additional initiatives.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of ELAR Curriculum for 2nd – 5th grade.
8. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
