QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university required, with additional graduate study preferred;
  2. Valid Texas certification in elementary education preferred;
  3. Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a primary classroom teacher preferred;
  4. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
  5. Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating and coaching colleagues and students;
  6. Demonstrated ability in curriculum and staff development at the campus or district level. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 230 days

 

SALARY:

$62,454  (IA-2)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2020-2021

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Design and assist in the implementation of the Early Learning Center (ELC) curriculum for infants through Pre-K.
  2. Collaborate with district staff and ELC directors to develop curriculum that supports the goals of the district.
  3. Observe lesson implementation and model lessons for ELC staff.
  4. Visit centers and provide feedback and coachlng as they relate to student learning needs and instructional issues.
  5. Develop and present staff development supporting center, department and district goals.
  6. Assist in the interviewing and training process for the department.
  7. Ensure staff members receive the required training hours for the Early Learning Centers.
  8. Support centers to ensure compliance with Child Care Minimum Standards.
  9. Conduct individualized reviews of children with special needs, both prior to enrollment and throughout the school year, as needed, to determine the probability of success in the desired program.
  10. Serve as an instructional leader for Club Rewind and other departmental programs.
  11. Provide quality customer service to staff, parents, students and community members.
  12. Provide input on department budget.
  13. Provide input on department and program policies and procedures.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Community programs, the Director of Community Programs and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Communication and Community Relations.
  15. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Frequent district-wide travel.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.

Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
