QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age; proof of high school graduation/GED equivalent required.
2. Two (2) years of experience required in a state-regulated child-care setting or documentation of at least 24 clock hours of training in the areas specified in §746.1305 at another regulated child-care center.
3. Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid required.
4. Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
5. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, parents, co-workers, and supervisors.
6. Ability to instruct children and manage their behavior.
7. Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
8. Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees.

FEES:

There is a fingerprinting fee (approximately $50.00) associated with this application process. There may be an additional fingerprinting fee associated with childcare licensing if you have not been fingerprinted for childcare licensing in the past five years.

SALARY:

$77.00/day

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for implementing or assisting in the implementation of the daily schedule, lesson plans, daily activity plans, and center events.
2. Supervise children from 6 weeks to 5 years old in all programming areas.
3. Assist children with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs, diapering, and personal hygiene.
4. Create a positive environment and utilize positive behavior management strategies with children.
5. Adhere to all Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
6. Maintain confidentiality.
7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise, and the elements.
