Description

Coordinate the activities of other Telecommunicators assigned to the CFISD Police Department Communication Center. Assist the Telecommunication Supervisor in maintaining a proficient and professional law enforcement call center.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

2.  Must hold an Advanced TCOLE Telecommunicator certification. Master TCOLE Telecommunicator certification preferred.

3.  Must hold or be able to obtain a TCOLE FTO certification.

4.  Must possess TCIC/NCIC full access credentials.

5.  Must possess a current and valid Class C Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the  Texas Department of Public Safety, and meet all requirements for other safety-sensitive positions.

6.  Must have security clearance and pass a CCH check for assessing security-alarm pass card data.

7.  Must have working knowledge of police radio communications.

8.  Must have working knowledge of computers.

9.  Must be proficient in verbal and written communication.

10.Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) preferred.

11.Experience with operation of CCTV systems preferred.

12.Must be able to act and react with professional poise and effectiveness in stressful and/or emergency situations.

13.Must have command of English language and be able to communicate clearly over the telephone and radio.

14.Must have a high level of customer service skills.

15.Must be able to work shift-work, holidays, and weekends.

16.Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending and computer keyboard activity.

17.Must maintain confidentiality of information, data and records.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   

260 Days                   

 

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$21.56/HP4

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022

                                               

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Maintain TLETS training standards for all TCO's.

2.  Schedule all TCO's.

3.  Operate digital two-way radio and telecommunications system.

4.  Operate TLETS and TCIC/NCIC systems.

5.  Operate Police Department's computer records management system (CAD and RMS).

6.  Operate fire and burglar alarm monitoring system.

7.  Operate video monitoring systems.

8.  Be the first point of contact for public after hours for the District.

9.  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

10.Regular and reliabe attendance is an essential job function.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Tools/Equipment Used: two-way radio, alarm system and other security equipment, fire extinguisher, and standard office equipment including computer and peripherals.

Posture: prolonged sitting and standing.

Motion: strenuous walking and climbing; frequent keyboarding/mouse, prolonged driving.

Lifting: moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds) 10-50 pounds frequently; 50-100 pounds occasionally.

Environment: work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), (moderate exposure to noise), frequent district-wide travel.

Mental Demands: maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged hours; may include working rotating shifts and/or rotating days off; on call 24 hours per day.

Other: May be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; ability to restrain resistant persons; ability to remove resistant persons with violent behavior.
