QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred;
  2. Minimum of five (5) years successful experience in supporting and installing computer hardware and peripherals, preferred;
  3. Minimum of five (5) years IT systems and technical experience, preferred;
  4. Experience in support of PC software products in a wide variety of applications including: WIN XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, MS Office, and Microsoft;
  5. Possess and maintain a Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record as measured by the School Bus Driver's Record Evaluation Criteria;
  6. Ability to work in conjunction with parents, school building staff and department personnel in order to provide safe, efficient, effective, reliable student transportation;
  7. Possess interpersonal skills necessary to communicate successfully with other district personnel, patrons and parents; and
  8. Experience with Microsoft System Configuration Center, and Group Policies.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual Contract 250 days

 

SALARY:

$73,685 (BA-5)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2020-2021

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee and manage the daily operation of the assigned transportation technical and informational duties and other needs.
  2. Administration of hardware, software, and peripheral applications throughout the district and department.
  3. Supervise and evaluate District personnel and their use of specific systems as assigned.
  4. Assist in the development, evaluation and enforcement of transportation policies, procedures and guidelines relating to the implementation and usage of informational data collection, updating and maintenance.
  5. Work with campus staff, parents and the public in maintaining the appropriate performance management procedures regarding transportation efficiency and student data information.
  6. Update student and information data as received and maintain district/department website information to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Investigate and report all incidents related to electronic devices used to account for and transport students.
  8. Evaluate systems and technical information and recommend updates and upgrades.
  9. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  10. Work in conjunction and coordination with director, assistant directors, fleet supervisor, and non-transportation personnel.
  11. Responsible for the continual training and development of transportation staff and district personnel relating to systems and technical transportation information.
  12. Prepare instructions necessary to facilitate easy distribution of software and hardware installations by designated personnel.
  13. Provide problem determination and resolution in response to district software application problems.
  14. Interface with the network operation systems manager in order to facilitate installation of necessary software on existing Local Area Networks.
  15. Deploy and manage desktops and devises that provide access with desktop virtualization, remote desktop services, and application virtualization.
  16. Assist the director with the management and development of department budget.
  17. Frequently review department budget ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance.
  18. Investigate and find resolution to iSupport tickets assigned to the transportation department.
  19. Oversee and manage bus video retrieval process to ensure chain of custody and retention guidelines.
  20. Coordinate and communicate with approved vendors on hardware, software, and peripherals for the department.
  21. Assist with developing the specifications for new vehicle purchases.
  22. Serve as the department point of contact for the transportation call center to include compliance and training.

  25. Assist the director of transportation in any projects or tasks within the department.
  26. Other duties as assigned by the director of transportation.
  27. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional exposure to the outdoors and noise.
