QUALIFICATIONS:

The Part-Time Worker- Private Music Lesson Teacher position will assist students in the development of their individual music performance skills and to enrich the instructions being delivered in the student’s middle and high school band, middle and high school orchestra and high school choir classes.  We offer private after-school lessons on the following instruments; voice, violin, viola, cello, string bass, flute, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion.    

1.  Recommendation from a District department or campus. Must have met requirements for hire for the selected position.

2.  High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred for all positions.

3.  Bachelor's degree or higher from recognized, accredited college or university preferred/not required for tutors and/or professional positions.

4.  Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language. 

5.  Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude, maintain confidentiality, and abide by the policies of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a temporary assignment that is available to work less than 20 hours per week for one school calendar year. The position is not required to pay into the Teacher Retirement System (TRS).

Notice to TRS Retirees

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

The hourly rate will be determined based on position and the hiring department budget.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Responsible for various duties assigned by department supervisors, campus leaders, or other staff members.

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Exposure to working inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), moderate exposure to noise, and moderate exposure to extended periods of sitting and/or standing.
