QUALIFICATIONS:

Student Employment:

1.  Recommendation from a District department or campus.

2.  At least 14 years old and currently enrolled in middle or high school.

3.  Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.

4.  Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude, maintain confidentiality, and abide by the policies of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. 

 

Adult Employment:

1.  Recommendation from a District department or campus. Must have met requirements for hire for the selected position.

2.  High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred for all positions.

3.  Bachelor's degree or higher from recognized, accredited college or university preferred for tutors and/or professional positions.

4.  Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language. 

5.  Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude, maintain confidentiality, and abide by the policies of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a temporary assignment. The length of temporary assignment will be determined based on project need.

Notice to TRS Retirees

Depending on your individual date of retirement, you may have restrictions on the number of hours allowed to work each month without loss of annuity and incurring payroll and/or TRS Care surcharges.  Therefore, we are advising that all retirees contact TRS to discuss their individual restrictions, if any, in order to make good decisions prior to accepting any position with CFISD.  It is ultimately the responsibility of each retiree to be aware of his/her status to prevent any loss of funds.

 

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

The hourly rate will be determined based on position and the hiring department budget.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Responsible for various duties assigned by department supervisors, campus leaders, or other staff members.

  • Part-Time Worker: A part-time worker is an employee who works less than ½ the workload of a full-time position.
  • Temporary Worker: A temporary worker is an employee who works less than 4 ½ months in a school year.
  • Long-Term Temporary Worker: A long-term temporary worker is an employee that works ½ time or more of the standard workload of the position. This position is required to pay into the Texas Retirement System (TRS) at the current contribution rate of 7.7% and .65% for TRS Care. NOTE:  Effective September 1, 2021, the member contribution rate will increase from 7.7% to 8.0%.  To learn more, please visit the Teacher Retirement System of Texas website for more details.  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Exposure to working inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), moderate exposure to noise, and moderate exposure to extended periods of sitting and/or standing.
