Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  High school diploma/GED equivalent.

2.  Clear and current valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.

3.  Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.

4.  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the trade.

5.  Current Texas Journeyman Plumbing License. 

6.  Backflow license required or the ability to obtain license within one year of employment.

7.  Knowledge of Codes and Ordinances concerning plumbing systems.  

8.  Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.

9.  Available to respond to 24 hr. emergency calls.  

10.Ability to work flexible hours when necessary. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:                      
260 days  

 

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$26.03/HS11

$1.00 stipend for Backflow License (individuals working towards license will receive stipend after successful completion of license program)

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2019-2020                                              

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Operate personnel lift, ditch witch, jet machines, sewer machines and pipe threading equipment.

2.  Repair minor plumbing malfunctions in building plumbing systems.

3.  Install, repair or relocate all types of plumbing fixtures.

4.  Troubleshoot and locate problems in plumbing systems.

5.  Prepare time, materials and cost estimates for repair/installations.

6.  Complete proper paperwork in accordance with department guidelines.

7.  Locate, identify and mark underground utilities.

8.  Perform preventive maintenance.

9.  Respond to emergency calls.

10.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

11.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and caring. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent districtwide travel.
