QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred;
- Valid Texas administrative certification, preferred;
- Valid Texas teacher certification, preferred;
- Five (5) years of successful administrative experience or an equivalent amount of human resource management experience in the private sector;
- Knowledge of the state certification/credential requirements of public school staff, wage, salary, and compensation programs;
- Knowledge of employment contract administration and state and federal employment laws;
- Knowledge of implementation and management of electronic data management systems; and
- Strong oral and written communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$81,842 (BA 6)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist with the process for issuance and renewal of state certificates and permits for professional employees.
2. Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws related to educator credentials including documentation, reporting, and communication district-wide.
3. Assist with administering the teacher hiring schedule to ensure compliance with the state minimum salary schedule requirements.
4. Calculate and code professional employee compensation including wages and salaries and ensure compliance with federal wage laws and the district compensation plan.
5. Assist with the administration of employment contracts for all employees.
6. Assist with the coordination of the district’s leave program, including FML, temporary disability, assault leave, and the Sick Leave Bank.
7. Assist in responding to incidents of potential employee involvement concerning drugs and alcohol.
8. Implement the policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area assigned.
9. Compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and electronic reports, records, and other required documents.
10. Assist with the evaluation of job performance of department staff to ensure effectiveness.
11. Coordinate TEA Mandated Principal Survey regarding the effectiveness of education preparation programs in preparing first year teachers to succeed in the classroom.
12. Conduct the out of district appraisal review process.
13. Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of human resource rules, regulations, and practices.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and/or HR Director.
