ROOFER IV
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Clear and valid state of Texas driver’s license.
3. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Minimum of one (1) year trade experience in either general maintenance or constructions is preferred.
5. Have knowledge of power tools.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$13.34/HS4

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform assigned tasks cheerfully and promptly.
2. Understand and apply all written, oral instructions and directions.
3. Complete each task with proper written records as required by the department.
4. Be at work consistently and on time.
5. Maintain quality standards as set by the district.
6. Assist in all phases of department needs.
7. Perform basic roof, masonry, and damp proofing repairs.
8. Setup and work on a scaffold and ladder at various heights.
9. Work either indoors or outdoors in various temperature and weather conditions.
10. Attend training sessions as assigned.
11. Work in harmony with others.
12. Adhere safety in all areas.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ROOFER III
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Clear and valid state of Texas driver’s license.
3. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Minimum of two (2) years trade experience required, three (3) years is preferred.
5. Be able to mix mortar for masonry repairs.
6. Knowledge in various types of caulk and its applications.
7. Be familiar with different type roofing systems.
8. Know what type of material is used to make repairs to different type roof systems.
9. Recognize the difference between asphalt and pitch roofs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$14.27/HS5

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. All responsibilities as listed for Roofer IV.
2. Perform repairs to metal, single pay and shingle roofs.
3. Perform caulk and window glazing repairs.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
5. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
ROOFER II
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Clear and valid state of Texas driver’s license.
3. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Minimum of four (4) years trade experience required, five (5) years preferred.
5. Know how to inspect, diagnose and repair asphalt, pitch, single ply, metal and rubber roofs.
6. Know compatibility of materials associated with roofing and caulking.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$15.26/HS6
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. All responsibilities as listed for Roofer IV and III.
2. Perform preventative maintenance on roofs.
3. Perform repairs on expansion joints in the walls and on the roofs.
4. Install shingle and metal roofs on various projects.
5. Perform masonry work on new construction or remodel projects.
6. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
ROOFER I
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Clear and valid state of Texas driver’s license.
3. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Minimum of five (5) years’ trade experience required, six (6) years is preferred.
5. Troubleshoot jobs.
6. Be gracefully willing and able to teach accrued knowledge to fellow employees.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$18.47/HS8
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform all responsibilities as listed for Roofer IV, III, and II.
2. Work a crew of employees without supervision and know what material is needed to perform the task.
3. Lay out all phases of roofing projects.
4. Figure job estimates (materials and labor) accurately.
5. Manage department for short period of time with written directives
6. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors (All Levels):
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Ability to work alone.
