IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN III
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience in CFISD Grounds or related employment required. Some knowledge of irrigation systems preferred.
4. Must be willing to learn and enroll in classes to obtain an Irrigator’s license.
5. Able to read and understand written instructions.
6. Able to communicate (verbally) effectively.
7. Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
8. Able to speak, read and understand English.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$11.42/HS3
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems. (Ex: valves, heads, and controllers)
2. Use shovel and other hand tools to make needed repairs on irrigation systems.
3. Assist in troubleshooting IR problems.
4. Assist in setting controllers for various start and stop times.
5. Assist in checking all IR systems on athletic fields and campuses.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN II
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Irrigation or related employment required.
4. Must be enrolled in classes to obtain an Irrigator’s license.
5. Must be able to check and make minor repairs of irrigation systems on athletic fields and campuses. (Ex. valves, heads, nozzles, controllers, and set start and stop times)
6. Must have experience in operating a trenching machine.
7. Must be able to use a wire locator and voltmeter to troubleshoot IR problems.
8. Must be able to use a shovel and other hand tools to make repairs to the system.
9. Able to read and understand written instructions.
10.Able to communicate (verbally) effectively.
11.Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
12.Able to speak, read and understand English.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days

$14.06/HS5

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

2. Perform preventative maintenance on IR systems at regular intervals.
3. Keep accurate inventory of all truck tools and supplies.
4. Turn in daily work orders.
5. Order parts from CFISD warehouse.
6. Communicate effectively with the Irrigation Lead and Foreman on the status of IR systems.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
8. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN I
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Irrigation repair or installation required.
4. Texas Irrigator’s License required.
5. Must be able to check and make all needed repairs and make adjustments to existing IR systems.
6. Must be able to operate a trenching machine.
7. Must be able to use a wire locator and voltmeter to troubleshoot IR problems.
8. Must be able to use a shovel and other hand tools to make repairs to the system.
9. Must be able to read IR plans and locate all items.
10.Must be able to make calculations for installation of IR zones. (Ex. flow rates, pipe size, etc…)
11.Must be able to estimate jobs and prepare drawings for renovations.
12.Able to read and understand written instructions.
13.Able to communicate (verbally) effectively.
14.Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
15.Able to speak, read and understand English.

$16.54/HS7

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
Must be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
Must be able to work outside in all seasons.
Must be available for after hour demands; subject to 24-hour responsibility.
Must maintain emotional control under stress.
Able to work alone.
Able to keep information confidential.
