QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  High school diploma or GED required; college hours preferred.

2.  Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

3.  Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

4.  Minimum of one year successful child care experience in a licensed child care facility.

5.  Experience as a lead child care instructor preferred.

6.  Knowledge of Texas Child Care Licensing standards preferred.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

197 days

 

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$21,910 – IP3

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Implement the provided activity plans and adapt, as needed, for the assigned classroom.

2.  Implement the daily schedule and help coordinate center events.

3.  Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.

4.  Support the cleanliness of the center and sanitizing of all center supplies.

5.  Supervise the children in all programming areas.

6.  Be kind, respectful, and thoughtful to others while you are performing the duties that make up this position.

7.  Physically arrange the classroom into well-defined areas for learning.

8.  Ensure each child’s personal needs are met in regards to hygiene, bathroom, diapering and such.

9.  Create a positive learning environment.

10.Assist in directing Aide, as appropriate.

11.Adhere to all Texas Child Care Licensing standards.

12.Complete all necessary paperwork for communication with the parents of the center and provide positive communication with parents, as appropriate.

13.Provide regular, on-going communication to the Child Care Director.

14.Provide quality customer service.

15.Provide input on the ELC budget.

16.Provide input on department policies and procedures.

17.Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary by the Child Care Director, Office of Community Programs, and/or the Associate Superintendent for Governmental, Community, and Planning Initiatives.

18.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
