QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma/GED required. Some college preferred.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in applied technology Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
3. Demonstrated proficiency in general office management and procedures.
4. Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must have a high level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student records, employment records, police department cases/incidents/investigations records and other issues.
5. Minimum of five (5) years of successful secretarial experience. Experience in public school setting preferred.
6. Must be self-motivated, possess the ability prioritize, organize, multi-task numerous complex activities and manage time with little supervision.
7. Must be able to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
8. Possess the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
9. Possess ability to work with frequent interruptions and work in stressful situations.
10.Knowledge of the Texas Criminal Justice System, law enforcement forms processing, and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement forms filing preferred.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$38,862 – CP7
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Answer telephones in a professional manner that promotes good customer service.
2. Screen incoming calls, making decisions concerning calls for urgency and priority.
3. Relay pertinent information to appropriate District personnel, departments or schools.
4. Assist with data entry for Police Department records.
5. Process purchase orders and requisitions and maintain records for budget tracking.
6. Handle highly confidential records, correspondence and communications.
7. Serve as scribe for meetings and prepare written reports of those meetings.
8. Process reports and special documents.
9. Assist with the assignment of officers to extra jobs.
10.Maintain files on Police Department employees.
11.Compose and prepare routine correspondence.
12.Prepare correspondence and reports.
13.Schedule meetings/appointments and prepare itineraries for the Chief of Police.
14.Review and distribute departmental mail.
15.Aided Dispatch system (CAD).
16.Order and maintain supplies for the department.
17.Make travel arrangements as needed for staff.
18.Enter work orders for facility maintenance and technology service.
19.Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Police.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
