QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma/GED, documented college-level Spanish translation studies required (30 credits minimum); certificate of completion or degree preferred.
2. Exceptional communication skills, proficient in reading, writing and speaking both English and Spanish.
3. Minimum of three (3) years of practical, verifiable work as a Spanish translator and interpreter in a full-time capacity or six (6) years in a part-time capacity required.
4. Proficiency in applied technology such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as Adobe Suite (preferred).
5. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple assignments, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality essential.
6. Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational and interpersonal skills.
7. Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

250 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$44,696 – CP8
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Translate and prepare documents, publications and other written communications using standard conventions.
2. Provide Spanish interpretation services as needed (i.e. assist Instructional Support Center receptionist with walk-ins and phone calls; assist departments during parent conferences.
3. Provide emergency translations, including Key Communicator letters, parent letters and other urgent communications (SchoolMessenger).
4. Assist Coordinator for Spanish Public Relations with annual Translator Workshops.
5. Provide translation support for department activities and programs relative to non-English speaking populations.
6. Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required.
7. Assist in maintaining content on Spanish website.
8. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
9. Perform related duties as assigned by the Coordinator for Spanish Public Relations and/or Director for Communication.
