QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Clear and valid Texas driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record accordance with district policy.
3. Must be able to work some holidays and weekend walk-throughs.
4. Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills.
5. Ability to operate personal computer and educational software.
6. Ability to work and communicate with co-workers, students, parents and teachers effectively.
7. Ability to care for a variety of animals including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
8. Work under minimal supervision to prepare and maintain the instructional materials/animals at the science resource center.
9. Competency on CFISD proficiency test (Score of 70 or above on both parts of the test).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
250 Days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$27,805 – CP3
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide appropriate care of the animals housed at the science resource center including feeding, cleaning, basic medical care, and grooming.
2. Follow established procedures and standards, and maintain labs in a clean, healthy, and safe manner.
3. Assist teachers, parents and students in use of the science resource center, its teaching tools, and facilities.
4. Assist with the training of volunteers.
5. Assist with office and clerical duties as needed.
6. Maintain nature trails, animal lab, gardens, aquariums, kit room, Protist lab and other center facilities including restocking, replacing, cleaning, and making repairs where needed.
7. Pick-up/delivery of planetariums, supplies, donations, etc.
8. Create, build, and maintain museum-type instructional exhibits and displays.
9. Keep administrative records and assist with inventory.
10.Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
