HVAC IV

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma/GED required.

2. Clear and valid Texas driver’s license.

3. HVAC/R Servicing Certificate preferred.

4. EPA refrigerant recovery certification type I and II required, type III preferred.

5. Have knowledge of refrigeration principles.

6. Possess working knowledge of basic electricity for HVAC and HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.

7. Minimum of 1 year of HVAC service experience required, 2 years preferred.

 

Salary/Pay Grade

$19.01/HV6

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019

 

Terms of Employment:                      

260 days 

                                             

Essential Functions:

1. Perform work in a thorough and neat manner in accordance with industry standards, codes and laws.

2. Assist with and gain experience from preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs with direct supervision to District HVAC equipment including but not limited to:

     Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers

     Centrifugal and screw package chillers

     Natural gas boilers and unit heaters

     Electric duct heaters

     Cooling Towers

     Pneumatic, DDC and Variable Frequency Drive controls

     HVAC air distribution systems, AHU’S, FCU’S, Fans and other devices used in air distribution

     Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry

3. Responsible for maintaining their assigned equipment in a clean, first class, efficient operating condition.

4. Strive for continual improvement of technical skills through experience and trade literature.

5. Exhibit a desire to learn and excel in the HVAC industry.

6. Required to perform after-hours assignments.

7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

8. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

HVAC III

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma/GED required.

2. Clear and acceptable Texas driver’s license.

3. HVAC/R Servicing Certificate preferred.

4. EPA refrigerant recovery certification Universal required.

5. Possess excellent knowledge of refrigeration principals.

6. Possess excellent knowledge of basic electricity for HVAC and HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.

7. Minimum of 3 years commercial HVAC service experience required, 4 years preferred.

 

Salary/Pay Grade

$24.57/HV9

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019

 

Terms of Employment:                      

260 days 

 

Essential functions:

1. All responsibilities of HVAC IV.

2. Learn how to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints and shop drawings.

3. Assist with air and water balancing to conserve energy and maintain tenant comfort.

4. Gain experience from preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs with minimum direct supervision to District HVAC equipment including but not limited to:

     Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers

     Centrifugal and screw package chillers

     Natural gas boilers and unit heaters

     Electric duct heaters

     Cooling Towers

     Pneumatic, DDC and Variable Frequency Drive controls

     HVAC air distribution systems, AHU’S, FCU’S, Fans and other devices used in air distribution

     Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry

5. Preform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

6. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

HVAC II

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma/GED required.

2. Clear and acceptable Texas driver’s license.

3. Successful completion of basic air condition theory class.

4. Must have Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification.

5. Understand proper use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.

6. Minimum of 5 years large commercial HVAC service experience required, 6 years preferred.

 

Salary/Pay Grade

$26.65/HV10

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019

 

Terms of Employment:                      

260 days 

 

Essential functions:

1. All responsibilities of HVAC III and IV.

2. Be experienced and able to perform preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency repairs with reasonable supervision to District HVAC equipment including but not limited to:

     Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers

     Centrifugal and screw package chillers

     Natural gas boilers and unit heaters

     Electric duct heaters

     Cooling Towers

     Pneumatic, DDC and Variable Frequency Drive controls

     HVAC air distribution systems, AHU’S, FCU’S, Fans and other devices used in air distribution

     Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry

3. Read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints and shop drawings related to HVAC industry.

4. Perform air and water balancing with reasonable supervision.

5. Strive for continual improvement of technical skills through on-the-job-training, training provided by the District and through extra-curricular training or literature.

6. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

HVAC I

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma/GED required.

2. Clear and acceptable Texas driver’s license.

3. Successful completion of basic air condition theory class.

4. Must have Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification.

5. Understand proper use HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.

6. Have working knowledge of computers and software applications.

7. Have experience with DDC, pneumatic and variable frequency drive controls.

8. Minimum of 7 years large commercial HVAC service experience required, 8 years preferred.

 

Salary/Pay Grade

$29.39/HV11

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019

 

Terms of Employment:                      

260 days 

 

Essential Functions:

1. All responsibilities of HVAC II, III and IV.

2. Experienced and able to perform preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency repairs without supervision to all District HVAC equipment including but not limited to:

     Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers

     Centrifugal and screw package chillers

     Natural gas boilers and unit heaters

     Electric duct heaters

     Cooling Towers

     Pneumatic, DDC and Variable Frequency Drive controls

     HVAC air distribution systems, AHU’S, FCU’S, Fans and other devices used in air distribution

     Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry

3. Maintain, upgrade and backup Building Automation Software as required.

4. Respond to after-hours calls as required.

5. Responsible for supervising and teaching technicians of lower grade levels while striving to improve their own technical levels through experience and literature.

6. Required to perform on-call after hour assignments.        

7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

8. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions for all HVAC positions:

Able to work various shift work 6:00 am or 8:00 am to 2:30pm or 4:30pm, or 2:00pm to 10:30pm as well as emergency and scheduled overtime as required; Able to lift 75 pounds; be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks; be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work alone; ability to keep information confidential; work well with others; working at heights; physical exposure to cold, heat, dampness and noise; continuous standing, walking, bending, climbing, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, lifting and lowering; ability to work appropriately with others in close proximity.
