QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Degree from an accredited university or three to five years related experience in voice/data communication environments

2.   Minimum of three years of experience with local exchange carriers and various voice technologies such as Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) and PBX switch management

3.   Minimum of two years of experience in installation, configuration, troubleshooting and support of WAN hardware such as CSU/DSUs, routers, switches, and terminal servers

4.   Minimum of two years of experience in a large IP routing environment with knowledge of IP addressing schemes, DHCP, DNS, and remote access services

5.   Experience in Cisco 7900 and 8800 series devices for desk, wireless, and conference rooms preferred

6.   Experience with Cisco Call Manager system and utilities preferred

7.   Experience in video distribution technologies and equipment preferred

8.   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a dynamic team environment

9.   Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex network issues

10. Ability to document and implement short and long term plans of action

11. Strong organizational and problem solving/task management skills

 

  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract 250 days

 

SALARY:

 

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.   Maintain and administer the district’s VOIP telephone system.

2.   Support technical standards and testing of enterprise communications systems and applications.

3.   Perform complex technical analysis, design, support, implementation and project management for technology related activities.

4.   Provide customer support for communication systems.

5.   Provide support to the applications, network, systems, and storage, and escalate issues as needed.

6.   Assist in the on-going tracking of enterprise technology communications maintenance contracts.

7.   Receive, review assign service request tickets for voice, data and video needs district wide.

8.   Assign, advise, instruct district contractor to service, repair and install voice, data and video systems Coordinate with local telephone service provider (AT&T) regarding new service, move service, voicemail service, emergency repair service and other service as required

9.   Monitor and support district network service via service request submission or by daily monitoring of network equipment

10. Provide wireless network support for both Aruba and Cisco Wireless Control Systems in use district wide

11. Provide onsite support for video and distance communication systems used by instructional staff

12. Provide or make available technical training regarding campus telecomm/network/desktop equipment or services to staff for basic phone, voicemail or other applicable communication service as needed.

13. Coordinate and provide technical consultation for facilities planning/construction/maintenance departments of CFISD regarding logistics of telecomm/data equipment, station apparatus and distribution locations.

14. Review billed service invoices by district contractors for payment

15. Coordinate with asset management department regarding transport of surplus network and communications equipment to auction/surplus dispersal as required

16. Coordinate with purchasing services department regarding network and communications equipment and services in use by district campuses

17. Perform other applicable telecommunications related duties as needed.
