QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering or Computer Science related field;

2. Minimum of two (2) years experience providing superior customer service in an enterprise class WAN\LAN environment preferred; this includes installing; troubleshooting, and supporting infrastructure hardware such as CSU/DSUs, routers, switches, terminal servers, gateways, security appliances, distance learning video systems, and wireless systems; Experience in educational environments is a plus;

3. Basic understanding of routing and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, etc.) with experience in DHCP, BootP, DNS, IP, and IP related subnetting and design;

4. Experience with Aruba Wireless Enterprise is a preferred;

5. Experience with CISCO Enterprise Wireless is a plus; 

6. Experience with advanced troublshooting methods and network management tools preferred; including LAN meters, laptops, analyzers, syslog daemons and network management applications;

7. Need strong communication and organizational skills (both written and verbal) and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract: 250 days

 

SALARY:

$53,715  (BA-3)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2016-2017 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists with installation, and troubleshooting services of network hardware, including wireless access and connectivity.

2. Maintains hardware and network electronics and routers code levels according to district standards.

3. Coordinates the moves, adds and changes for new drops with the Telecommunication analyst.

4. Assists with performing proactive network monitoring services.

5. Provides support with voice, video, and data connectivity support and installation.

6. Provides outstanding client support while offering high level assistance to Customer Care Center personnel on connection related issues.

7. Opens, updates, and closes network related incidents through incident tracking system.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

DAILY TASKS TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Responsible for making sure all campuses have network connectivity. This includes but is not limited to verifying power, moving fiber locations on frame, putting in a ticket with Phonoscope/ATT/ICTX, allow supported vendor access to closet/NOC.   

2. Work iSupport issues (any and all assigned).

3. Create iSupport tickets for issues that do not already have tickets existing tickets.

4. Determine and fix wireless issues. Including but not limited to provisioning AP’s, installing spare AP’s in classrooms, find rouge AP’s, locate non-working AP’s and trouble shoot, reboot AP’s, determine if cabling vendor needs to assist in replacing AP. 

5. Attend and add input in vendor, staff and facilities (new campus) meetings.  

6. Set up network equipment (closets) at new and existing campus.

7. Inventory the network closets.

8. Trouble shoot network connectivity issues at campus such as slowness, drops not working, and locating loops. 

9. When a request is made to add network drop, evaluate and determine if drop is needed.

10. Contact vendors (HP/Cisco/Aruba, etc.) on broken equipment. Create a ticket and ship back broken parts.  

11. Maintain communication between campus Service Technicians and ECN on network configuration/issues.

12. Change plans for printers, security cameras and time clocks.
