QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required; college hours preferred.
2. Minimum of three (3) years successful child care experience in a licensed child care facility.
3. Thorough understanding of the requirements of child care licensing.
4. Texas Child Care Licensing Director's qualifications required.
5. Possess management skills needed to maintain the day-to-day operation of a child care center, including supervision of caregivers.
6. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Must possess basic office skills, filing, copying, record keeping, and general office management.
8. Proficient in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office professional).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual contract: 210 Days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$39,318. IA-0
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2016-2017
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise the operation of the assigned Early Learning Center.
2. Train, coach and direct staff members to ensure quality program implementation.
3. Support the program staff in planning and preparing activity plans, as well as center events.
4. Assist in the physical arrangement of each classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
5. Assist in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and safety of the center.
6. Inspect and ensure that all classroom/outdoor supplies and equipment are in good working condition and are utilized properly.
7. Assist in the implementation of the center's daily schedule and make certain all aspects of the program are high quality.
8. Assist the Child Care Director in meeting or exceeding the standards of Texas Child Care Licensing.
9. Assist in ensuring the operation of the center is in compliance with all CFISD standards.
10. Complete all necessary paperwork for communication with the parents of the center and provide positive communication with parents as appropriate.
11. Serve as director in the absence of the Child Care Director.
12. Assist the Child Care Director with managing human resource related tasks pertaining to staff meetings, staff schedules, substitutes, absences/tardies, basic policies/procedures and such.
13. Provide regular, on-going communication to the Child Care Director.
14. Provide quality customer service.
15. Provide input on the ELC budget.
16. Provide input on department guidelines and procedures.
17. Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary by the Child Care Director, Office of Community Programs and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Communication and Community Relations.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Ability to sit on the floor. Tolerate moderate noise levels; work with frequent interruptions. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
