QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university in a relevant field of study; degree in business preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years buying experience in a purchasing department;
- Minimum of two (2) years of current supervisory experience preferred;
- Possess working knowledge of bid process, contracts, warehouse inventory management, and buying techniques;
- Possess strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Possess leadership qualities necessary to supervise employees under his/her direction; and
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$62,310 (BA 4)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2016-2017
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assume responsibility for district contracts assigned by the Director of Purchasing.
- Maintain current record of expenditures of new schools, renovations and capital outlay as recorded on school and departmental planners.
- Coordinate the selection and purchase of administrative and instructional furniture.
- Support principals in the opening of new facilities by physically being at the campus to facilitate purchase order organization, receiving, damages, and assisting with move-in requirements.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
- Provide supervision for the purchasing data management support staff, purchasing accountant, and building receptionist.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Purchasing with inventory catalog maintenance, specialized project buying, data collection with reports and other special projects as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing or the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services.
