QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must hold at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
3. Possess and maintain a Texas CDL – minimum Class B with P & S endorsement with acceptable driving record as measured by the Texas School Bus Driver’s Record Evaluation Criteria (Must be obtained within 45 days of employment).
4. Obtain Texas School Bus Driver certification within 6 months of employment.
5. Must have knowledge of minor/major body and upholstery repair.
6. One year or more experience in upholstery field (preferred).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
UT III - HS5 - $14.27 per/hour
UT II - HS6 - $15.26 per/hour
UT I - HS7 - $16.79 per/hour
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2018-2019
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform basic maintenance and service on district motor vehicles.
2. Carry out instructions with little supervision.
3. Repair and replace damaged seats/seat covers.
4. Sew and fabricate seat covers from patterns.
5. Practice safe work procedures at all times.
6. Use safety equipment when performing job functions.
7. Communicate in verbal and written form.
8. Must practice reliable and regular attendance.
9. Perform as substitute driver/attendant as needed.
10.Perform other duties as assigned.
11.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around machinery with moving parts. Frequent exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
