QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Valid Texas Teacher certificate;
- Valid Administrative certificate, preferred;
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and strategies;
- Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations;
- A minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience as a high school coordinator or head coach.
- Demonstrates positive leadership in working with diverse students, staff, families and communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct and manage campus' athletic programs and facilities.
- Responsible for coordinating and directing the campus football program to achieve the maximum potential success of all program members and teams.
- Manage and supervise athletic activities using a variety of instructional techniques and media to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship and to improve the abilities of student-athletes in the sport(s) assigned.
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student-athletes.
- Responsible for the collection and dissemination of all required data related to athletic academic performance.
- Establish performance criteria for competition. Regularly evaluate and assess students' athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis.
- Responsible for approving all athletic inventory/purchasing requests for all sports. Must approve all supplies, equipment, and uniforms received at the campus.
- Oversee the proper care and maintenance of all campus athletic fields, facilities, and equipment including the cleaning and sanitizing, repairing, and storing of equipment, and make recommendations for repair and replacement when appropriate.
- Oversee the use and scheduling of campus athletic facilities.
- Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules.
- Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
- Work with the athletic director to schedule athletic competitions and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the coaching program and make changes as needed based on findings.
- Coordinate athletic banquets and award presentations on campus.
- Accompany and supervise student-athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sport(s) on out-of-town trips.
- Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations in regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.
- Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets assigned to the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
