QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Texas Cosmetology Operator's License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation;
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. (If you have a foreign transcript, it must be evaluated by a TEA approved credential evaluation agency. Click here for approved agencies: http://tea.texas.gov/Texas_Educators/Certification/Out-of-State_Certification/Foreign_Credential_Evaluation_Services/
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Substitute proficiency test provided by the district. (Passing score = minimum of 70 on both sections.)
- Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees.
FEES:
There is a fingerprinting fee (approximately $50.00) associated with this application process.
SALARY:
$110.00/day
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, in accordance with district policies, and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
