QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent with substitute proficiency test provided by the district (passing score = minimum of 70 on both sections) or at least 48 college credit hours completed from an accredited college or university;
(If you have a foreign transcript, it must be evaluated by a TEA approved credential evaluation agency.) 2. Experience working with children preferred. 3. Flexible and able to adjust daily routine. 4. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
6. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
7. Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees.
FEES:
There is a fingerprinting fee (approximately $50.00) associated with this application process.
SALARY:
$85.00 - $95.00/day
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, in accordance with district policies, and procedures on a day to day basis.
2. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
Substitute Para Educators/Paraprofessionals assist the teacher in the classroom or handle clerical duties to include answering phones or receptionist duties, workroom copying/stapling/sorting, etc.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
