QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
2.   Clear and valid Texas driver's license.

3.   Knowledge of energy management program development and implementation

4.   Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air-condition systems (HVAC)

5.   Ability to analyze and interpret data

6.   Ability to implement policy, procedures, and data

7.   Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

8.   Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases

9.   Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

10. Three (3) years' experience in energy or closely related field preferred.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract 250 Days 

 

SALARY:

$53,715.  (BA-3)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2016-2017.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

l.   Assist in the design and implementation of an efficient energy management program.

2.  Create and monitor utility use baselines at each campus and support facility.

3.  Assist the Energy Manager and campus liaisons in performing monthly energy audits on District facilities to track usage and verify expenditures.

4.  Maintain detailed records of all data to assist the Energy Manager in preparation of monthly energy reports.

5.  Assist in construction plan reviews related to energy management and efficiency requirements for new schools and renovations.

6.  Coordinate energy retrofit projects with campus. Monitor installation and verify savings through consumption reports and energy modeling software.

7.  Maintain an ongoing process to monitor and verify the correct operation and reporting of District building Automation Systems (BAS).

8.  Work with maintenance personnel and BAS vendors to resolve any operational issues and warranty items.

9.  Ensure proper sequence of operation for scheduling of HVAC and lighting including evening and night visits to campuses to ensure compliance with accepted energy management practices and established procedures.

10. Work cooperatively with building principals and Facilities directors to support use of school facilities for extracurricular activities in a manner consistent with energy management guidelines.

11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Energy Manager, Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Construction, and/or Associate Superintendent of Facilities, Construction, and Support Services.

12. Along with the assistance from the Energy Manager, help develop and implement a Behavior Modification Program for the District. This will involve visiting the campuses, doing presentations and tracking implementation of the program by building a relationship with teachers, Principals, and Assistant Principals and discussing progress throughout the semester. Provide assistance where needed to promote a successful implemenation.

13. Assist Energy Manager and Facilities staff, including electricians and HVAC department personnel with automated lighting systems and BAS troubleshooting.

14. Assist Energy Manager with integration of SchoolDude scheduling to BAS scheduling.

15. Assist Energy Manager with software upgrades to the BAS coordinating with the CFISD IT Department.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equpment inlcuding computer and peripherals; District vehicle

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and overhead reaching; frequent driving

Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (udner 15 lbs)

Environment: Work inside in office environment; occasional work outside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; occasional exposure to extreme hot and cold tempertures, dust, electrical hazards; may work irregular hours; occasional prologned hours; frequent Districtwide travel.

Menatal Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
